How to Adjust a Rain Bird 5000 Rotor | eHow, Rainbird R-50 Turf Bird sprinkler rotors are preset at the factory to a 180-degree, or half-circle, radius. You may adjust them between 25 and 360 degrees. The left side of the sprinkler arc is in a fixed position based on its installation position. Adjusting an installed R-50 will change the arc from the right side of the sprinkler head.
The optimum operating pressure of R-50 sprinklers is 45 PSI. After installation, if you have the means to set your system pressure, adjust it to the desired 45 PSI. The radius adjustment screw, located on top of the noz- zle turret in the colored nozzle retainer, can be used to reduce radius of throw by up to 25%.
